Aaron Sarlo was born in Chicago, Illinois. He migrated to Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of eleven. He founded the pop-punk band, Techno-Squid Eats Parliament. The band was signed to Ardent Records, toured America, playing shows with Alex Chilton, Cracker, Barenaked Ladies, Cheap Trick, appeared on MTV and MTV Canada, and have been cited as an influence for many musicians. After the band’s break-up, Aaron Sarlo relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, forming the indie prog rock band, Slept, with Techno-Squid Eats Parliament sound engineer, Chris O’Brien. In 2009, Sarlo formed the indie-rock outfit, Dangerous Idiots, with former TSEP drummer and bassist Paul Bowling (of legendary punk band Trusty). Dangerous Idiots signed with London record label, Mostar Records in 2011, and Dangerous Idiots toured the American south, playing shows with Dash Rip Rock, The Meat Puppets, American Idol's Sean Michel, and many others. In 2012, Sarlo formed the short-lived but locally popular band, Laundry for the Apocalypse, and that same year long-time bassist, Jake Rutherford joined Dangerous Idiots. In 2013, Sarlo formed prog-rock act, Duckstronaut. In 2016, Dangerous Idiots released a live concert album, “Live at The Legendary White Water Tavern.” In 2018, Sarlo formed the three-piece indie rock band, Kid City with bassist Matt Rakes and drummer Olivia Glusica. In 2019, Sarlo released his first solo single, a comedy-country ballad called “Penis Tsunami."

A veteran of the stage, Sarlo has performed in front of thousands, at venues across the United States and Canada. On May 15, 2015, Aaron Sarlo guest appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show.
